Reporter: Lyn Tolbert (Gen 11)
Subjects: Natasha Kirkland & Jensen Kirkland
Lyn: We’re sitting in the kitchen of the Kirkland house. My parents just put the 'Crown Princess of Nap Time' down, and they’ve agreed to talk about the elephant in the room—or rather, the two Aunts in the room. Mom, Jensen... Aunt Alicia (Gen 8) and Aunt Winona are basically using our living room as a cold war battleground. Thoughts?
Natasha: (Leaning back, exhausted) It’s the same old story, Lyn. Alicia wants the McLean-Kirkland name to mean 'Empire.' She sees Nadine as the next face of a dynasty that started with Collin and Carter Henderson. She’s already talking about 'Imperial Tutoring' for a kid who still wears diapers.
Jensen: (Running a hand through his hair) And then there’s Winona. She looks at me, then she looks at the family tree—specifically Morgyn and Amelia Ember at the top—and she sees a legacy of magic that she thinks is 'fizzling out' with me. She’s desperate for Nadine to manifest the Spark just so she can prove the bloodline is still 'potent.'
Lyn: So, one wants a Queen, the other wants a Sorceress. What do you want for your daughter?
Natasha: I want her to have what you have, Lyn—a name that belongs to her and the freedom to choose her own path. If she wants to be an Empress, fine. if she wants to be a Spellcaster, great. But it has to be her choice, not a decree from Generation 8.
Jensen: Exactly. I love my sister and my cousin, but they’re so focused on the 421-Sim legacy that they’re forgetting there’s a real little girl in that crib. We’re raising a human, not a historical monument.
The Historian’s Tactical Sidebar:
The "Ember" Pressure: Seeing Morgyn Ember on the tree explains why Winona is so intense. She feels like she’s guarding a dying fire.
The Tolbert Shield: Mom is clearly using my status as a Tolbert as the blueprint for Nadine’s future. She wants us both to be independent of the "Imperial" nonsense.
The Theodore Vance Factor: I didn't mention it during the interview, but since the Greyson Branch just hit Generation 12, the Aunts are only going to get more desperate. The clock is ticking on their 'Empire.'
